TourTrak for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour is your ambassador to tour day! Any question you’d want answered is covered in its Tour Guide and any location you want more information on – including where you are at the moment – is detailed on the Tour Map. TourTrak tells you about the musical acts at rest stops, shows you where the next bathroom is, helps you find a good rendezvous point with friends, names the neighborhoods you’re passing through, and much more. TourTrak sends limited rider position information back to tour central so that organizers can gauge tour progress and make improvements. No personal information is required or recorded and battery usage is minimal.
The newest feature in TourTrak lets riders associate into groups, so you never lose your friends. This feature also improves safety, as there will be less need to call someone who may be riding.
TourTrak is an open source project sponsored by Galorath Incorporated, makers of SEER project effort and duration estimation tools for software, manufacturing, IT, electronics and more, which are relied upon by major enterprises worldwide. It has been developed by several talented teams of software engineering students at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
